A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Friday morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred at 8:31 a.m. along Route 443 in Wayne Township.

Troopers said Earl A. Readinger, 71, of Friedensburg, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck eastbound while Richard W. Ankenbrant, 45, of Pine Grove, was operating a 1999 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic westbound. Readinger stopped to make a left turn onto South Street and did not see Ankenbrant’s cycle. He turned left into Ankenbrant’s patch and a collision occurred.

Ankenbrant was flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, with suspected serious injuries, troopers said. Readinger was taken by ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital South, Pottsville.

Troopers cited Readinger for the crash.
