November 22, 1951 — Bob Popik’s blocked punt in the fourth quarter provides the game’s only points as Lansford pulls out a 2-0 victory over Coaldale in their annual Thanksgiving Day contest. With the game scoreless and less than five minutes left to play, the Tigers have the ball at the 9-yard-line and drop back to punt. John Posta’s boot is knocked down by Popik and the ball rolls out of the end zone for a safety. The Panthers, who outgain their rivals by 192-43 margin, receive a team-high 125 rushing yard from Ziggy Kosciolek.
