November 17, 1984 — Lehighton’s dream of a District 11 championship comes to an end when the Indians drop a 24-6 decision to Liberty in the Class 3A title game. After falling behing early, Lehighton trims its deficit to 10-6 when Guido Dominic catches a 10-yard touchdown pass from Tom Keer late in the second quarter. The scoring drive is set up after “Dicker” Bloom recovers a fumble. The Hurricanes’ Danny Warren, who finishes with 147 yards rushing, scores in the third frame to extend the lead. The Indians receive 84 yards rushing from Scott Freeman and 75 from Keer.
