Troy Alan Christman
, 20, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — marijuana.
He was arrested on Feb. 4 by Palmerton police in the 200 block of Lehigh Avenue. Police were dispatched to the area for suspicious activity. On scene, police found Christman, who admitted he had sold marijuana to another individual.
Although a plea bargain made with the district attorney’s office called for a probation sentence be imposed, Serfass rejected that. He said because of the “nature of the offense and a prior drug case in Lehigh County” he was not going along with the probation term.
Serfass sentenced Christman to serve one to one day less 24 months in prison. He also ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, supply a DNA sample and render 100 hours of community service.
He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Nov. 20.
Other pleas
Christy Lee Catone
, 28, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on June 8, 2016, by Jim Thorpe police in the 500 block of Center Street.
She also pleaded to one count of criminal mischief for an incident on April 17, 2016, in the 500 block of North Street. Police responded to a report of two people arguing. On scene police learned that Catone entered a residence at that location by breaking a window. She was not allowed to be in the residence.
On the drug count Serfass placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service.
On the mischief count she was placed on probation for a year, consecutive to the first count, and render an additional 50 hours of community service.
Catone is currently an inmate in the Schuylkill County prison on a pending probation violation charge.
Kristopher Lyden
, 38, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia in two separate cases.
He was arrested on July 11 along Route 903 near the turnpike in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge following a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle. He was found to have a marijuana pipe. He was arrested on the second charge on Sept. 3 by state police at Fern Ridge following another traffic stop along Route 903 near Towamensing Trail in Penn Forest Township. Again, he was a passenger in the vehicle in which methamphetamine was found and Lyden admitted it was his. In both cases a plea bargain with the district attorney’s office had counts of possession of a controlled substance dropped.
On the first count Serfass sentenced him to serve one to 12 months in prison, and on the second count one year probation, with the terms running consecutively. He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and render a total of 100 hours of community service.
He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. Nov. 17.
Robert Joseph Holliday
, 33, of Parryville, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arrested on Sept. 26 by Mahoning Township police who picked him up on an outstanding warrant. The paraphernalia was found on him. A charge of possession of an offensive weapon was dropped in a plea bargain.
Serfass sentenced him to time-served (50 days) to one year and ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service.
Holliday won’t be released from custody despite the time-served sentence. It was noted that he has a detainer on him filed by the state parole board for a state parole violation. He will be turned over to state officials to answer that charge.

The term runs concurrent with a 90 day to 60 months prison term imposed on a driving under the influence charge. She has already served the 90 days and is on parole.
