A Tamaqua man sent to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Oct. 18 after he threatened several family members with a knife during a domestic dispute.

Officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Arlington Street at 4:44 p.m. for a domestic in progress.

They met three family members who all said they had been threatened by Joshua McArdle, 26, of Tamaqua.

According to their statements, McArdle threw a butcher knife at them from about 15 feet away. He then picked up a steak knife and threatened to kill all of them.

One of the victims grabbed McArdle’s wrists in an effort to get him to drop the knife. During the struggle, he was cut on his left hand.

McArdle fled the house. As he ran, he pushed a large air conditioning unit out of a window. The unit broke apart when it hit the concrete sidewalk.

Officers found McArdle at 2:34 a.m. on Oct. 19. He was arraigned before duty District Magisterial Judge James Reiley on charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Bail was set at $25,000 straight cash.
