An armored truck crashed along a snow-covered off-ramp of Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on Tuesday.
State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 2:39 p.m. in Kline Township.
Dorothy Henry, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, was operating a 2015 Peterbilt armored truck and exiting I-81 while negotiating a tight right curve. The road was snow-covered at the time, troopers said, and Henry was driving too fast for conditions. The truck slid off the road and struck a concrete “jersey” divider, which was lining the left shoulder. The truck bounced off the retainer, re-entered the ramp lane for a short distance, then slid left into the barrier a second time, coming to rest.
Henry and passenger Devin J. Green, 22, of Kingston, were wearing seat belts and were not injured. The truck had to be towed.
Troopers cited Henry for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
