A deer entering the road in front of a vehicle was the cause of a crash in Schuylkill County on Friday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jennifer A. Lutz, 26, of Schuylkill Haven was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse northbound on Route 61 in Deer Lake borough at 7:11 a.m. when the deer entered the road in front of her.

The Traverse struck the deer with the right front end. Lutz and her passenger, a 10-year-old girl, were not injured. The Traverse was towed from the scene.
