Ideal weather prevailed for the Annual Pumpkin Parade staged last night in Lansford by the Panther Valley Jaycees.
It was estimated that more than 25,000 people viewed the parade, which took an hour and a half to pass the judges’ stand on Ridge Street.
Jaycee official Robert Silver was chairman of the event, which proceeded along a 2½-mile route overseen by Lansford borough and special police, Nesquehoning fire police and state troopers from the Lehighton barracks.
Judges were George Thear, Philomena Fauzio, George Bright, Charles Beynen, Charles Harris, Joseph Boyle and Agnes McCartney.
