The Schuylkill Historical Fire Society continues its goal of “Preserving Our Past — Enhancing Our Future” and is looking for financial support, especially through accepting new members in preserving firefighting history in Schuylkill County.
The organization has begun its membership campaign for 2018 and is asking people to consider joining the society as a dues-paying member. Dues are $25 a year (January to December) for individuals, $35 for businesses, and a life membership is available at $150.
The mission of the Schuylkill Historical Fire Society is to acquire, preserve, enhance and protect antique and historic fire apparatus, equipment, artifacts, memorabilia, etc., and to publicly display these relics for residents and visitors. Through its mission, the society honors fire and EMS first responders, educates the public on the history of firefighting, and motivates youth and young adults to volunteer as first responders for the safety of their local communities. The society maintains a museum with antique and classic firefighting equipment in Shenandoah.
An application for membership is available on the society’s Facebook page. Mail it (with the dues) to Schuylkill Historical Fire Society, 105 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, PA 17976. Attn: Membership.
Payment may be made by check or credit card by including the card type, number, expiration date and security code.
