Carbon County court — ARD
Six first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by Judge Joseph J. Matika.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. If they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.
Aimee Elizabeth Debaufre
, 27, of Catasauqua, was placed on a retail theft charge. She was arrested on Aug. 14, 2016, by Mahoning Township police at the Walmart store.
She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and to stay out of the store. There was no restitution ordered as all the stolen items were recovered.
Simerjeet Gurone,
27, of Lewisville, Texas, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on July 1 by Nesquehoning police along Route 93.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license suspended for 60 days.
Dylan D. Hill,
25, of Tamaqua, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 20 by Weatherly police along Main Street.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license suspended for 60 days.
Heather L. Kulish,
45, of Hazleton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on May 28 along Main Street by Weatherly police.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 30 days.
Shane Anthony Varano,
20, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 28 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 534 in Kidder Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Anthony Ronald Veet,
27, of Freeland, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 20 by Weatherly police along Main Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
