Carbon County is gearing up for the general election on Nov. 7.

On Thursday, the county election board approved the voter registration totals of eligible electors who may participate in the upcoming election.

The total of eligible electors is 42,492. Of that total, 18,147 are Democrats; 18,028 are Republicans; 3,530 are no affiliation; 1,080 are Independents; 262 are Libertarians; and 1,445 are other parties.

The board also approved the following electors to serve as precinct election officials where there are vacancies.

• Franklin Independent, 11th: Marie Metro, majority inspector; Joan Cressley, minority inspector; and Larry Markley, machine operator.

• Jim Thorpe, 1st-14th: Christina Rosick, clerk.

• Jim Thorpe, 2nd-15th: Sharon Binder, majority inspector; and Laura Marzen, minority inspector.

• Jim Thorpe, 4th-17th: Darlene Mosteller, clerk.

• Kidder North, 20th: Lois Hammer, majority inspector.

• Kidder South, 21st: Lena Kunath, machine operator.

• Lausanne, 26th: Ellen Erickson, clerk.

• Lehigh, 27th: Christine Hoffman, machine operator; and Cynthia Finsel, clerk.

• Lehighton, 2nd-29th: Harry Procina, majority inspector; and Jean Mertz, minority inspector.

• Lehighton, 3rd-30th: Connie Solt, judge of election; and Janet Defilippis, minority inspector.

• Nesquehoning West, 42nd: Stephanie Malaska, judge of elections; Kathleen Arner, majority inspector; and Patricia Kane, minority inspector.
