Northern Lehigh School Board
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following action this week:
• Agreement between the district and Donna Marks, assistant to the food service director.
• Elizabeth Gustus-Hannon as senior high school social studies teacher, replacing Jonathan DeFrain, who resigned, at a salary of $56,175, prorated, effective Sept. 28.
• Thomas Battista as senior high school chemistry teacher, replacing an employee who is on a leave of absence, at the substitute teacher rate days 1-30; day 31 and beyond; $47,750, effective Aug. 24, with a termination date upon return of full-time teacher.
• Raymond Ross as a districtwide permanent substitute teacher for the 2017-18 school year, to be paid a daily per diem of $120, and will receive district health benefits according to the Affordable Care Act regulations, with co-payment amounts equivalent to that of district personnel.
• Patricia Utsch as senior high school cook’s helper, replacing Kimberly Ruland, who replaced Wendy Shirk, who retired, at a salary of $12 per hour Monday through Friday, five hours per day up to 180 student days a school year, plus additional cleaning days as needed, effective Oct. 10.
• Jenna Martin as an elementary substitute teacher for the 2017-18 school year at the 2017-18 substitute teacher rates.
• Kelsey Follweiler as substitute instructional aide for the 2017-18 school year at the 2017-18 substitute rate.
• Ann Marie Belo and Eric Schaner as substitute custodians for the 2017-18 school year.
• Nicholas Sander as helping teacher, and Elizabeth Gustus-Hannon as inductee, at a stipend of $800, in the Northern Lehigh School District Induction Program for the 2017-18 school year.
• John Andreadis as assistant director for the fall play/spring musical for the Northern Lehigh High School Student Theater Group, at a stipend of $500, to be paid out of the general fund high school student activities fund.
• Jamie Farber to attend the A/CAPA fall workshop Nov. 1-3 in Hershey, with registration, lodging, meals and travel expenses totaling $626. Rhonda Frantz will attend at a cost of $707.
• Scott Gerould to attend the PSAHPERD State Convention Nov. 16-17 in Valley Forge at a total cost of about $277, to be funded from the high school budget.
• Key Bank Capital Markets as approved depositories for school district funds and/or temporary investments; to transfer funds on deposit to any other bank for the credit of the district; and for the business manager and/or superintendent to enter into agreements, supplements or amendments to implement the foregoing operations for the 2017-18 school year.
• The addendum to the agreement with Portnoff Law Associates Ltd. to be delinquent real estate tax collector for the 2017 tax year.
• The appointment of Statewide Tax Recovery as the delinquent per capita tax collector for the 2017-18 school year.
