The first worship service since the merger of the First Presbyterian Church of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, and the First Presbyterian Church, Jim Thorpe, was held for the combined congregation in the Summit Hill church yesterday.

The Revs. Carl and Donna Gray, who will be installed as co-pastors of the church on Nov. 3, officiated during the World Community Sunday celebration. The guest preacher was the Rev. Max Conley, executive of the Lehigh Presbytery who wished the members “Godspeed” in their new union. Serving as the liturgist was Kenneth Forrest.

Elders of the church who served Communion include Mae Weston, Rachel Rex, Warren Strauss, Anna Mason, Gerald James, Frank Shanton and John Morana.
