The world seems to be filled with chaos, confusion, anger and despair.

The America Needs Fatima prayer group will pray the rosary and other prayers publicly at noon on Oct. 14 at Kennedy Park in Lansford; the gazebo in Ludlow Park in Summit Hill; St. Patrick’s Cemetery, across from Turkey Hill, in Nesquehoning; and in front of the Depot Square Fountain at the five-points intersection in Tamaqua.

These local groups will join with more than 20,000 other America Needs Fatima groups throughout America and other countries at the same time according to their own time zone.

This public display of faith in God is their answer to this turbulent world.

The group believes the Blessed Mother wants them to pray in public so other people can see them pray and join in.

Oct. 14 was chosen as this year’s date because it is close to Oct. 13 “the day God worked the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, Portugal,” in 1917.
