Halloween parade
Registrations are now being accepted for the annual Tamaqua Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Tamaqua Lions Club. The parade is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 24, and will begin at 7 p.m.Deadline for registrations is Oct. 17.Forms are available at the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce office, 37 W. bkeich@yahoo.com.Tamaqua seniorsThe Tamaqua Senior Citizens held its annual picnic on Sept. 14 at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club. Refreshments were provided by A&C Catering.Joan Wall was welcomed back after an absence and members brought desserts for sharing.Upcoming trips include: Sept. 18, Dutchway Restaurant in Myerstown; Oct. 20, Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre.The group is open to anyone 55 or older. Meetings are held at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St. The Aug. 24 meeting will include the celebration of July and August birthdays.Soup socialThe next monthly community soup social at Trinity United Church of Christ will be held on Oct. 7.
