State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes:
• On Sept. 7 a hit-and-run crash occurred at 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Lizard Creek Road and Dinkey Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Joey F. Rose, 28, of Port Jervis, New York, was westbound and stopped on Lizard Creek Road for a stop sign at the intersection. His 1997 Pontiac Grand Am was struck in the rear bumper by another vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Rose and his passenger, Randy F. Rose, 37, of Walnutport, were not injured. The hit-and-run vehicle is suspected to be a BMW.• A hit-and-run was reported at 8:32 p.m. Sept. 2 along Route 209 at the intersection with Scenic Drive in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Nicholas R. Smerdon, 28, of Walnutport, was northbound and stopped at the intersection when his 2017 Ford Focus was struck by a 2006 Dodge Caravan, whose driver fled the scene. Smerdon and his passenger, Alexandra G. Possimato, 28, of Walnutport, were not injured.• A hit-and-run was reported at 11:24 p.m. Sunday along Molasses Valley Road in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a 2014 Dodge Dart was eastbound with the driver attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve. The driver lost control and struck a tree head-on with the left side causing property damage at 974 Molasses Valley Road. The driver then fled the scene.• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 2:08 p.m. on Sept. 5 along Church Hill Road in East Penn Township. Ryan C. Heery, 18, of Lehighton, was driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee westbound when he lost control and hit a utility pole. Heery was not injured but the Cherokee had to be towed.Troopers cited Heery for the crash.
