Palmerton drama club presents 'Mulan Jr.' this weekend

The Palmerton Drama Club will put on its first junior production this weekend.

"We are proud to present Disney's 'Mulan Jr.' featuring students from all buildings in grades 5-8," the club announced. "Join us as well follow Mulan and her family through their journey. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous dragon sidekick, Mushu, to save the Emperor! Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises herself as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. As the great battle with the Huns approaches, Mulan must choose between revealing her true identity as a girl or saving all of China with her clever plan."All tickets are $5. Performances will be held in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.Flowers and candy-grams will be available for purchase in the lobby before all performances courtesy of the Palmerton Drama Parents Club.Snacks and light refreshments can also be purchased before the show at the newly re-opened school store.After the performance, head back to the lobby to meet with a few of the main cast for autographs.
