Interim superintendent praises school district

The 2017-18 school year is off to a splendid start in the Northern Lehigh School District.

Interim Superintendent Jack Corby gave a glowing account on the opening of schools at Monday's school board meeting.Corby said being a part of the district's opening day was both an honor and a privilege."Northern Lehigh School District students are in great hands," Corby said, adding that parents can trust the district with their children.Corby said the floors of the schools were shining, while there were plenty of high-fives to go around as students were able to catch up with their friends."It was an incredible opening," he said. "It's a tribute."Moment of silenceBefore the start of the meeting, board President Gary Fedorcha asked for a moment of silence in observance of the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.Afterward, Fedorcha asked for a second moment of silence for the people of Texas and Florida who have been affected by the hurricanes.
