A hypodermic needle was discovered on a street in Palmerton over the weekend.
Contacted this morning, borough police Chief Randy Smith said the needle was found at Second Street and Lafayette Avenue."There was a hypodermic needle in the street," Smith said. "Someone found it. We disposed of it."Smith said that while the situation isn't a regular occurrence in the borough, it also isn't totally uncommon."We get a few now and then," he said. "There's no prediction (as to) when we get them."Smith said anyone who finds one should contact their local police department so they may pick it up and dispose of it.
