A Scranton man was given a time-served sentence on Tuesday on charges related to three burglaries.
Shane Joseph Grohotolski, 22, was sentenced to 116 days to one day less 24 months by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Grohotolski previously entered a guilty plea to one count of criminal conspiracy-criminal trespass, a felony two.Grohotolski was originally charged with 11 felony two criminal counts including three counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy-burglary, and criminal conspiracy-criminal trespass and two of criminal trespass. Those charges were dropped in a plea bargain.He was charged for his part in three entries to a residence along Fuzzy Lane, Palmerton, that occurred in August 2016.He was charged along with Stephen Holmes. Holmes admitted to 30 to 40 burglaries and was then charged with 30 criminal counts and earlier this year pleaded to three counts.He was placed in the state's Intermediate Punishment Program by Judge Steven R. Serfass on May 22. The program runs for two years and includes time spent in a state correctional institution, an intensive inpatient drug rehab program and eventually a halfway house.Grohotolski admitted assisting Holmes in the three entries.Nanovic also ordered Grohotolski to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of $1,000 and pay a fine of $1,800.He was given credit for 64 days spent in prison on the charges and 52 days spent in an inpatient rehabilitation program for a total of 116 days and paroled.
