A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following a domestic incident in which he assaulted his live-in girlfriend.

State police at Frackville said troopers responded to 8 Fourth Ave., in Barnesville, Ryan Township, about midnight on Saturday for a report of a domestic assault.Troopers learned that Russel Tc Escobar, 26, of that address, engaged in a dispute with his live-in girlfriend.The argument became physical and Escobar pinned the victim to a couch. He then covered her mouth and nose with his hands causing a scratch to the right side of her mouth. Escobar then choked the woman until she passed out, leaving red marks on her neck.Troopers charged Escobar with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville. Troopers did not indicate if Escobar posted bail.
