Carbon County Court - Guilty Pleas

Defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas before Carbon County Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Louis James Schaeffer, 42, of Bethlehem, pleaded guilty to one count of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property for an incident on April 10.Serfass sentenced him to one year probation, assessed him $650, and ordered him to serve 50 hours community service.Stacy Alise Fronheiser, 28, of Scranton, pleaded guilty to a count of disorderly conduct for an incident on Dec. 2, 2014, in the borough.Serfass ordered her to pay a $300 fine.David Andrew Shiffert Jr., 28, of Coaldale, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence for an incident on June 16, 2016, in Coaldale.Serfass sentenced him to one year probation, assessed him $650, and ordered him to perform 50 hours community service.Paul Potichko, 55, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence for an crash on Oct. 7, 2016, in Summit Hill.Serfass sentenced him to a minimum of 48 hours imprisonment, and to pay $1,000.60 in restitution, a $500 fine, 25 hours community service, and suspended his license for 12 months.Dean James DiBonifazio, 25, of Hazleton, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance for an incident on Feb. 5.Serfass deferred sentencing pending evaluation for the state's intermediate punishment program.Zachary Alan Cebrosky, 30, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident that June 7 at his residence in Palmerton.Serfass sentenced him to serve 12 months probation, and 50 hours community service.David Allen Smith, 59, of Weissport, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana.Serfass assessed him a $300 fine.Rhonda Lee David, 45, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to a charge of bad checks from an incident on Jan. 1, 2016.Serfass sentenced her to two years probation, assessed her $1,350, ordered her to perform 100 hours of community service and to get a comprehensive mental health evaluation.
