Sekou Jones, Dakota Everett, Wyatt Clements, and Jordan Walters all helped East Stroudsburg University post a season-opening win this past Thursday against Fairmont State.
Jones, a redshirt senior linebacker and Pleasant Valley graduate, tied for the team high in tackles with 10. One of his tackles was for a loss.Everett, also a PV grad and senior linebacker, finished the contest with eight stops, one for a loss. The former Bear had a sack and also recovered a fumble.Clements, a former Lehighton standout, made his first-career start for the Warriors. The sophomore fullback carried two times for three yards, but one of his attemps resulted in a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that helped extend ESU's lead from 10-9 to 17-9.Clements also caught a pass for 22 yards in the victory.Walters, meanwhile, kicked two field goals, hitting from 20 and 24 yards. The Pleasant Valley graduate also connected on two extra points, accounting for eight points in the contest.
