Daniel Campbell Jr., 30, of Pine Grove Township, was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, following his arraignment on charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and providing false information to law enforcement authorities.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said he is being held in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, set by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, and is also being held at the prison on five active bench warrants that are out for his apprehension to face charges in Lebanon County.Police said he was stopped for multiple Motor Vehicle Code violations at 5:17
p.m.Wednesday at Poplar and Walnut streets, Tremont.He provided a false name and date of birth to police.Police said Campbell admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia.Police said before being able to identify all of the occupants of the vehicle, Campbell got out of the vehicle and ran off.He was caught after a foot chase with the help of two civilians and was found to have drugs in his possession.
