Catawissa St.Shrine of St. TheresaA fish dinner will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Madonna Hall, located behind the Shrine of St. Theresa in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.The menu includes breaded fish, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, string beans or corn, stewed tomatoes, dessert and coffee and tea.Tickets can be purchased for eat in or takeout.The dinner proceeds benefit OLMC Inc.AARP driving coursePanther Valley Senior Center, 90 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning will be holding a two-day AARP Safe Driver's Initial Course from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 6.Upon completion, drivers may be eligible for a discount on their car insurance. Consult your agent for details.The course is available to drivers 50 years and older, who have not yet completed the initial course or who have let three years pass since taking it.The cost for AARP members is $15, nonmembers is $20.
