Meet the Teacher Night at Weatherly Area Elementary School will be held onSept. 7.

Parents are invited to come and meet their children's teachers and learn the objectives for the school year. Some of the topics to be covered include curriculum, daily schedule, discipline, safe school procedures, student expectations, grading and homework.Also, parents will hear about scheduling a parent-teacher conference and state standards and state assessment.The times for each class are:Grade 1: 6 to 6:30 p.m. in classroomsGrade 2: 6:40 to 7:10 p.m. in classroomsGrade 3: 6 to 6:30 p.m. in Middle School LGI roomGrade 4: 6:40 to 7:10 p.m. in Ms. Tedesco's classroomGrade 5: 7:20 to 7:50 p.m. in Mrs. Chapin's classroomEncore teachers and various administrators will be available from 6 to 7:30 p.m.Laurie Mount of Nutrition Inc. will also be available if you have any questions about food service or the cafeteria.A notary will be on hand to notarize signed volunteer affidavits. Bring a photo ID if you would like to have the document notarized. Copies of the affidavit will be available.For a donation of $2 per child, child-sitting for children ages 4-11 will be available.A parent must sign the child in at the middle school lobby and sign them out again as they leave.Please call PTA President Donnell Stump at 570-579-8801 bySept. 5 to register your child so that enough help is available.Please enter through the middle school doors. Parents and guardians of band and chorus members from sixth grade through 12th grade are encouraged to stop by during the evening.The High School Meet the Teacher Night will be held onSept. 21, starting at 6 p.m.PTA membership dues are $7 per person.Membership applications will be available at all meet the teacher events. Homeroom parents will be selected for kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms from among those who have completed the membership application and indicated a willingness to serve as a homeroom parent by the Sept. 30 deadline.
