Recognized by the Special Olympics

The Petit-Clair family of Lehighton was given the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Carbon County Spirit Awards for its volunteer work with the Carbon County Special Olympics during the annual awards program and picnic of the group held at Mauch Chunk Lake Park on Sunday. Melissa Boch, back right, of Palmerton, has been selected to serve as a coach for the National Powerlifting Team of the Special Olympics in 2018, with the event being held in Seattle.
