The Carbon County Fair will open its gates for the 18th annual fair today at 4 p.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 5:30.

Dignitaries from the fair will speak and members of the State Fair Council will be in attendance. Carbon County Commissioners are also expected to be in attendance, as well as state Rep. Doyle Heffley, R-Carbon.

The Opening Ceremonies will include speeches and the presentation of sponsorship plaques, followed by the crowning of the Carbon County Fair Queen and Jr. Miss.

This evening the Rehrig Brothers will perform on the main stage at 7 and 8:30 p.m. A Zero Turn competition will be held in the small arena and DJ Chicken Nugget will host line dancing in the main arena at 7 p.m.

The evening will conclude at 9:30 p.m. with a fireworks display in the main arena.
