Slatington will host a Youth Works Program, a weeklong program that trains Northern Lehigh students ages 16-18 from Monday until Friday, Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The program provides primary training and work experiences for students who meet income eligibility requirements. Students will receive an hourly wage or stipend during the program.The program is part of a partnership with the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Lehigh Valley Workforce Development Board. Funding is made possible through the County of Lehigh Community Development Block Grant funding.Workplace opportunities and experiences will vary per student. Opportunities are prearranged with local employers and reflect a variety of opportunities in the community.Interested students or parents should contact Alice Wanamaker at
