Clothing donations

St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, is still accepting clean, new or slightly used clothing for their annual clothing drive.Items may be dropped off at the church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays.If you have any questions, call Mary Strohl, 570-325-2294.The giveaway begins on Aug. 3. Dates and times will be announced at a later date.Class of 1964Members of the Jim Thorpe High School Class of 1964 will hold a summer picnic at the home of Ed and Sheryl Solomon, 55 Galli Road, Halifax.Classmates planning on attending or needing directions should contact Solomon at 717-877-3644 or by email.The Solomons will provide the burgers, hot dogs and beverages, but classmates may bring items to share.
