Car cruise benefits Horses & Horizons

Tamaqua Street Machine Association held a car cruise on June 25 to benefit Horses & Horizons Therapeutic Learning Center at Bear Rock Junction Mini Golf in New Tripoli. There were more than 60 classic and vintage automobiles on display. The fundraiser brought in more than $300 in donations.

Horses & Horizons Therapeutic Learning Center is a registered nonprofit organization that offers a special program of therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with special needs. The center is based at Harvey and Elaine Smith's Helping Horse Farm in West Penn Township, located between the towns of New Ringgold and Tamaqua.Tamaqua Street Machine Association is made up of people of all ages who are dedicated to the enjoyment of antique cars, muscle cars and hot rods. It has two more car cruises scheduled at Bear Rock Junction. There will be one on July 30 to benefit the Vigilant Fire Company of Slatington, and another on Aug. 27 to benefit the New Tripoli Fire Company. Donations are accepted for admission to these events. The association will also hold a car show at the same venue on Sept. 23.
