McAdoo police citations

McAdoo police released information on several recent citations.

Scott Branz Jr., 34, of McAdoo, was charged with public drunkenness on June 24 after he went to the police station to challenge a relative's arrest. Branz was wearing shorts only and was in a highly intoxicated state. The incident took place at 11:15 p.m.Savannah Moore, 18, of Scranton, was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to lower the high beams on her vehicle. She was stopped for the traffic violation at 3:06 a.m. on June 4. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and found a grinder containing marijuana in the center console.Theresa Schreffler, 18, of Hazleton, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was stopped at 12:42 a.m. on June 4 after officers noticed a loud/faulty exhaust system on her car. A strong odor of marijuana was detected and officers discovered two marijuana roaches in the car.A 16-year-old male from McAdoo was cited for criminal attempt and conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle after a months long investigation.At least eight vehicles were entered on Jan. 7, with multiple items being stolen. Property owners in the areas were contacted about the availability of video surveillance and many cooperated, providing officers with footage.That footage identified a group of teens attempting to enter numerous vehicles. The 16-year-old was identified from those tapes and interviewed in the presence of his mother.He admitted trying to open at least one car door.
