ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A 19-year-old has been killed and another man wounded in a shooting Pennsylvania residents first mistook for Fourth of July fireworks.
The Lehigh County coroner's office says Javard Lane, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at a hospital Tuesday.He and another man were shot during an altercation around 3 p.m. in downtown Allentown. Lisa Rojas tells The Morning Call she thought the noise was fireworks, until she heard the sound of police and ambulance sirens.Lane's death has been ruled a homicide. Police say the second victim was shot in the leg.The shooting is under investigation.
