Traffic stop nets drugs, dealer in Carbon

A traffic stop in Lansford on Friday netted a hefty haul of drugs that were going to be distributed in Carbon County.

Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean Smith reported that Lansford and Nesquehoning pulled over a vehicle for a stop sign violation and during that stop found over 5 grams of crystal methamphetamine in the vehicle occupant's possession.Officers also learned more information about drug dealing going on in the borough of Nesquehoning.The lead led police from Nesquehoning, Lansford, Jim Thorpe and the Carbon County detective to the parking lot at Redner's Warehouse Market.There they found a person known as a head drug dealer with two bricks of heroin and over three grams of meth that were being prepared for distribution.The items were seized and arrests were made, Smith said, noting that the names of the individuals and complete details of the case are not being released at this time because of it being an ongoing investigation."We worked very hard today and we got great results," he said.
