Kunkletown woman charged for drugs

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found on a Kunkletown woman following her arrest on an outstanding warrant Friday by the Mahoning Township Police Department.

According to information provided by the Monroe County Drug Task Force, Monroe County District Attorney detective Michael Kreischer was dispatched to the Monroe County Correctional Facility after corrections officers discovered crystal methamphetamine concealed on Jennifer Gongora, 31, of Kunkletown.The Mahoning Township Police Department had arrested Gongora on an outstanding Monroe County warrant and took her to the Carbon County Correctional Facility for transport to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.Once at the Monroe Correctional Facility, she was searched during routine processing by MCCF corrections officers. It was during the search that a packet of suspected crystal meth was found on her body.When questioned, police said Gongora admitted the substance to be crystal methamphetamine and further admitted to using other illicit drugs, namely heroin.As a result, Gongora was charged with three misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance, purchase or receipt of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was also charged with a second degree felony for possession of controlled substance contraband by inmate prohibited.Gongora was video arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jolana Krawitz and will remain in jail on her original Monroe County charges pending a preliminary hearing on these new drug charges.

Gongora
