James J. Sverchek of Lehighton graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson School of Engineering with a bachelor of science degree in civil and environmental engineering. He also attained the dean's list in his final semester attaining a GPA of 3.95.

James is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Pittsburgh Chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success. He has accepted a civil engineering position with AECOM Technology Corporation in their Pittsburgh office.James is the son of Mark and Anne Sverchek of Lehighton and grandson of the late John and Veronica Sverchek of Lansford and William and Anna Corkill of Jim Thorpe.
