Joe DeAngelo has announced that he is stepping down after eight seasons as Marian's head softball coach.
DeAngelo helped lead the Fillies to a Schuylkill League Division 3 championship this past season, posting a league record of 9-4. The title was Marian's fifth during his eight years in charge. The team finished the year with an overall mark of 14-8."You always hear that a head coach just knows when it's time to move on, and that time is now," said DeAngelo, who made the announcement at the team's annual banquet. "This senior group regained the division title, and won it for the third time in four years, so it's a good time to step away."During his tenure, the Fillies posted a record of 104-67.DeAngelo also coached the Marian's boys basketball team (1990-92) and had a record of 39-21.
