Three people were injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon along Route 443 in West Penn township.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m.. West Penn police report a car was traveling west and stopped for several deer which had run out into the roadway. While stopped they were rammed from the rear by a man driving a mini-van.

All three occupants of the car were injured including a pregnant woman.

All three were treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning, Mahoning Valley ambulances and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to area trauma centers.

West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
