An Albrightsville man admitted selling oxycodone pills to a confidential informant in the area of Jim Thorpe High School earlier this year.
Jaquan Jeremiah Brown, 22, appeared before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II on Thursday in Carbon County court to plead to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.In exchange for the plea, the district attorney's office dropped another count of possession with intent, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of criminal use of a communication device and possession of drug paraphernalia.Brown was arrested on April 3 in the area of the high school, according to the police arrest report. The sale was set up during an undercover drug investigation conducted by borough police. Brown admitted selling five oxycodone pills to the CI.Nanovic told him under state sentencing guidelines he faces a minimum prison term of somewhere between six and 14 months.Brown also entered a plea to a driving under the influence of a controlled substance charge. He was arrested on March 11, 2016, along Angelini Avenue by Nesquehoning police.Nanovic deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report. Brown will also apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest. He was also told to get a drug and alcohol evaluation for the DUI charge.
