A couple returning from a two-week vacation at Niagara Falls lost their travel trailer in a crash just 5 miles from their home. Traveling north in Franklin Township at 5 p.m. Monday, a woman pulled out of Hemlock Street into their path of travel. Jason Doll, acting chief of police for Franklin Township Police Department, said the hitch on the camper got caught on a utility pole, causing the camper to tear in half. There were no injuries. The Franklin Township Fire Company and Lehighton paramedics responded. The Franklin Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Police are investigating the incident.
