An undocumented immigrant from Honduras has pleaded no contest in Schuylkill County court to sexually assaulting a child in Tamaqua.

Judge John E. Domalakes on May 31 ordered a pre-sentence investigation before sentencing Medardo M. Amador, 36.He will also undergo an evaluation to determine whether he is a sexually violent predator. Amador will likely be deported after finishing his sentence.He remains in the county jail under $50,000 percentage bail.Amador had been living in West Hazleton at the time of the assault, committed on March 17, 2016.Tamaqua police had charged Amador with aggravated indecent assault of a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.He pleaded to aggravated indecent assault of a person under 13, indecent assault of a person under 13, and corruption of minors.Pleading no contest means that Amador acknowledges that prosecutors have sufficient evidence to prove him guilty of the charges.
