Twelve area players on roster for McDonald's All-Star game

Twelve Times News players are scheduled to play for the Red Team in the annual McDonald's Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic.

The game will be played on Thursday, June 15 at Nazareth High School's Andrew S. Leh Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.Seven Pleasant Valley seniors are on the roster, while there are two players from both Palmerton and Northwestern. Northern Lehigh will be represented by one player.In addition to the seven PV players, Bears head coach Mark Versuk is in charge of the Red squad.Local players include Pleasant Valley's Mike Mitchell, Justin Richardson, Joseph Lees, James Miller, Tyler Dooner, Joshua Fitzsimmons, and Benjamin Bard; Palmerton's Garrett Perschy and Mike Stasko; Northwestern's Tyler Foster and Trevor Cunningham; and Northern Lehigh's Tanner Filchner.This is the 47th annual classic, which pits the Red Team (Lehigh, Carbon and Monroe Counties) against the Gold Team (Northampton County, Palisades, and Phillipsburg).Last year, the game raised over $30,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
