The Anthracite Girls Pint Out donated $271 to the Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue to help offset the loss of recently stolen donation jars.

Vanessa Gerhard, Anthracite GPO chapter head, organized a Pints and Pallets fundraising event at the Tamaqua Community Art Center during Schuylkill County Beer Week in May, and raised additional funds at the Schuylkill County Brew Fest.The Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue will hold its 10th Annual Dog Walk to benefit the rescue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdayat the Owl Creek Reservoir.Registration is $10, and forms are available at the time of the event, or in advance at the Tamaqua Borough and OneMain Financial.
