One of 11 defendants arrested in 2015 for their part in a major drug operation in Carbon County entered a guilty plea on Thursday in the county court before Judge Steven R. Serfass.
Jason Robert Wilk, 32, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy — possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He was arrested in May 2015 along with 10 others on various drug counts. At the time of the roundup of the 11, District Attorney Jean A. Engler labeled the drug selling as “Operation 93 Pipeline” because the drug traffickers were bringing the heroin from Luzerne County into Carbon County via Route 93.Also arrested at the time were Joshua Ynoe Mejia, the boss of the operation; his right-hand man Bradesky Santos Jr., “enforcer” Anthony Jordan Vega, and Erik Feliz, all of Luzerne County.Mejia supplied Wilk, along with David Allen Anthony Jr., Brittany Michele Vincent and Curtis Margle, all of Carbon County; and Cynthia Ann Hippensteil of Columbia County, and Robert Alan Fox of Bucks County. Most of the others have already entered pleas.Wilk’s case has been pending because of his arrest in other investigations. There were 12 continuances filed in the instant case.Serfass sentenced him to serve 18 to 48 months in a state correctional institution and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, render 200 hours of community service when paroled and pay court costs of about $1,000.Wilk is currently an inmate at SCI Laurel Highlands serving a term in another drug case. He is eligible for parole in that case in July. Serfass ruled his sentence run concurrent with that term, meaning if Wilk is paroled in July, he still will have about 16 months to serve on the new sentence.
