Carbon County commissioners on Thursday accepted the resignation of First Deputy Clerk of Courts Irene Thomas of Jim Thorpe.

Her resignation is effective May 30. Commissioners did not say why Thomas, who had worked at the job for about a year, resigned.In other personnel actions, commissioners accepted the retirement of parking/meter attendant Deborah C. Feller of Jim Thorpe, effective July 1.Commissioners also appointed Emily R. Nerino, Jim Thorpe, as a summer law clerk.Other actions included:• Employment separation: Susan J. Williams, Lehighton, from her job as temporary department clerk III, elections, effective May 19;• Hires: Brian A. Fisher, Nesquehoning, seasonal park maintenance; Brenna Karnish, Lansford, park attendant; and Noah F. DeMatto, Summit Hill; Jordan L. Devitt, Nesquehoning and Noah E. Rodgers, Jim Thorpe, as life guards.
