A Nesquehoning man faces charges of retail theft after he took over $2,000 worth of food items over the course of nearly a year from a Nesquehoning business.
Nesquehoning police said that Stephen M. Soldridge, 48, of West Catawissa Street, was taking food from the Top Star Mini Mart in the borough.They were notified by the store manager on Jan. 12 that Soldridge had taken a bag of Swedish Fish and a can of Red Bull but did not pay for it.Surveillance footage showed Soldridge take the items.On Jan. 16, he was again in the store and took a meatball sub, breakfast bagel and chicken bacon ranch wrap without paying.Police contacted Soldridge and he admitted taking food from the store at least three times a week over a couple of months.The items stolen between April 14, 2016, and Jan. 16 are valued at $2,023.90.He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
