ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man arrested in the stabbing death of another man in his ex-girlfriend's apartment a year ago has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.
Twenty-three-year-old Hector Luis Arroyo-Rivera pleaded guilty Monday in Lehigh County Court to third-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Angel Nieves-Cirino in Allentown.Arroyo-Rivera, who apologized, also pleaded guilty to criminal trespass, terroristic threats and possessing instruments of crime. During two earlier appearances, he balked at entering guilty or no contest pleas to burglary.Authorities said the woman told police that he kicked in her front window in May 2016 and stabbed the victim repeatedly as he tried to flee.Relatives said Nieves-Cirino had a young son at the time of his death and a baby daughter born after he died.
