Lehighton girls basketball coach Eric Gidney has resigned from his position due to personal reasons.

Gidney has been the head coach the past four seasons, compiling a record of 35-54. The Indians' best season under Gidney came in 2015-16, his second year in charge, when they qualified for the District 11 playoffs and finished the season with an 11-12 overall record.In the three seasons prior to Gidney's arrival, Lehighton won a total of just nine games. The Indians have had just one winning season in the last 20 years.
