Effective May 3, Lower Towamensing Township is no longer operating a recycling drop-off center at the township building.

The municipality plans to provide recycling containers, but has not found a new company to provide them.The topic of recycling will be discussed further at the board of supervisors meeting at 7 p.m. today. Information will be provided to the public as it is updated.In the meantime, the Aquashicola Fire Co. on Little Gap Road will take aluminum cans to be recycled. Newspaper and cardboard may be taken to St. John’s Church on Fireline Road.The township appreciates the community’s understanding and patience while it works on providing recycling in the near future.
