Spill in Mahoning

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a spill this morning in Mahoning township. About 8:30 a.m. Mahoning township police reported a spill at the intersection of Route 443 and Seneca Road.

The Mahoning Valley Fire Company was dispatched to the scene who then requested a representative of PennDOT.

About two hours later several workers of New England Motor Freight arrived on scene explaining one of their tractor trailers experienced engine failure and spread the motor oil without the knowledge of the operator of the rig.

The spill was along Route 443 east then onto Seneca road for about a half mile. The spill was left untreated.
